Popularity Game on SuperCell’s Boom Beach

Sometimes, it’s not just about the game genre that makes a game popular and fun. It’s who’s playing it. I mean, we all had those places when we were kids and we love specific games like this one called Boom Beach. It’s not like there was anything magical about the said game. But there are things that makes you want to love this game because of its features. I mean, there’s nothing magical about SuperCell either for creating such a game. Of course, we all know how successful Clash of Clans in the gaming world for more than 2 years now. So chances are, this is Boom Beach game  you’ve been playing for quite some time will also have the same fate.

The Boom Beach game has been pumping out for over a year now, since its release the year 2013. And I mean, the game has always been good, they have millions and millions of copies downloaded over iOS and Android appstore already. But at least to me, it has never been the kind of game you get bored that easily even though it consumes considerable amount of your time. You go play the game, and take some time enjoying and boom…it’s another day like you haven’t noticed the time passed by. You can get so many strategy for this game at www.boombeachhacks.net so you can maximize your time playing it.

Tobe honest, I wasn’t all that excited about it at first way back months ago. Boom Beach —it just sounded a little too forced to me. A this-plus-that combo that’s exactly what it sounds like, and nothing more. Then I gave it a chance. And, after not being able to put it down for three days. Well, that’s when I discovered the something more about this game.

Boom Beach is one of the most fun, and addictive games on its platform — iOS and Android.  And I think the coolest thing about it is that, even though the combination might sound a bit contrived, it’s beneficial to the game itself. I mean, this is exactly what Supercell needed. And it’s what Clash of Clans has been doing, too. So as much fun as this game is…for me, one of the problems is that its characters have a limited appeal. Like, unless you’re part of that fan base, it’s not really the kind of franchise you’re going to get excited about. This game fixes that. It broadens the appeal in a huge way, by attaching it to one of gaming’s most beloved genre .And actually, “attach” isn’t even the right word.

I mean, so many games get so overplayed with these yearly sequels, and prequels, and spin-offs but never Boom Beach. And I think part of me was afraid this was step one. That today’s gaming might be tomorrow’s popular title. And if it’s anything like this, it might be great.

Living without Food just Sunlight and Air

A super creepy “real-life” Barbie woman monster thinks she’s going to be able to survive on only sunlight and air. Valeria Lukyanova has had a lot of alterations to become a real-life Barbie. It’s weird and creepy and gross, but that’s beside the point. She has now come out as a wanna-be Breatharian. Breatharian isn’t a word she made up. It’s from Eastern teachings and centers around a belief that food and water aren’t necessary to survive. She seems to want to survive on sunshine and rainbows! But she can’t. Humans don’t have chlorophyll to help us absorb energy from light, we get energy from food.

Firstly, while there are studies to show intermittent fasting might have a benefit in mice, to completely stop eating is just crazy. Gandhi fasted for 21 days, and doctors believe humans can go, maybe, eight weeks without food — as long as we have water. Biologically, starvation involves a set of events that have never in history been conquered. No one has ever gone without food permanently and survived. First, the body burns carbs and sugars then proteins; eventually it will break down its own muscles to stay alive. Without food, brain runs on proteins and sugars broken down within the body, it’s an evolutionary advantage, but the lack of energy causes weakness and confusion, immune deficiency and irritability.

Once full-on starvation hits, Miss Lukyanova will have convulsions, hallucinations, muscle spasms, and chronic diarrhea. This might take a few weeks, but it is inevitable. And that’s the easy bit. We can’t survive for more than 3-to-5 days without water. H2O lubricates our joints, protects our mucous membranes, regulates body temperature, helps dissolve minerals into our bloodstream and flush waste, and keeps the cells and fluids in our body plump and happy. A baby in a hot car could die from lack of fluids in a matter of hours. Adult humans can survive a bit longer, depending on their health.

First, they’ll experience a lack of saliva and urine; eventually dry mouth; dry, sunken eyes; rapid heartbeats;vomiting; and diarrhea. Less than a week later, during full-blown dehydration, the human body goes into shock to protect itself and then dies. Not having enough to eat is bad enough, attempting to go without eating and living off “sunlight and air” is dumb. Let’s say Miss Real-Life Barbie knows all this, and she’s going to sneak the essentials of life. What’s the minimum she needs to survive?

Medically supervised very-low calorie diets exist where patients only consume five to eight hundred calories per day, usually of a high-nutrient shake or bar. It must be medically supervised because often patients produce gallstones and experience starvation symptoms. The doctor can monitor and swoop in to save the person from their lack of diet. In the 1970s, some obese individuals attempted a fad diet where they’d only eat 400 calories a day; many had unexpected heart attacks. All these plans include lots of water, and most were tested for 8-12-week weight-loss plans, not full-time survival.

Even at that low 800-calorie level humans need a variety of nutrients, amino acids and food types to satisfy our dietary requirements! It’s not exactly easy to sneak food and still stay healthy. There are people who claim to live on a Breatharian diet, but none have been scrutinized by science. At least four people who joined the movement have died. Long story short, we NEED to eat and drink to live. That might be obvious to some humans, but apparently not all. Do you think this Barbie girl is living in a Barbie world?

What you should know about foods and its expiration?

Expiration dates aren’t actually expiration dates. Important information ahead so you could eat more food.  .A study published by Harvard Law School says 90% of us are throwing away food that’s a perfectly delicious and edible. We think that food has gone bad when it hasn’t. Even if it doesn’t look or smell bad, once the date has passed, it gives us the heebie-jeebies to eat it. I know you’ve been there. I’ve definitely been there. If I eat this, this is going to make me sick or kill me. The problem is that this expiration date-induced paranoia results in several billion pounds of unnecessary food waste every year.

The study points the finger at America’s hot mess of a food labeling system. There’s no federally binding system, so every state and local area has their own rules and regulations. And within that, there’s a ton of variability. There are different regulations for different areas, for different foods, which ends up being inconsistent and plain confusing. Between “best by” and “sell by” and “best if used before,” how is an everyday American supposed to know what’s still safe to eat?

The thing about expiration dates is that they can’t ever give an exact date that something’s going to go bad. It’s really variable. And as for the current labels, the “best by” label indicates when the product is in its peak freshness. But even if it’s not fresh, that doesn’t mean you can’t eat or drink it. Sell by date, on the other hand, is a guide for you, but for the grocer. It’s the date that the product should be sold in order to get to you while it’s still fresh. In general, using your eyes, nose, and a little common sense is a good idea.

Have your tomatoes gone wrinkly? They’re just a little dehydrated, but probably not going to kill you. Have they decomposed and gone mushy? Well, I’m not sure I’d eat that. But to be honest, I’ve eaten a ton of expired crap and I’ve never gotten sick from it that I know of. One of the scientists who reviewed the study said that in his 30 years of studying food safety, he’s never seen any illnesses break out from food kept on the shelf or in the fridge past its expiration date as long as the food was stored properly, because like keeping meat in the store wrapping to avoid spreading bacteria and making sure it doesn’t leak on other things in the fridge, not putting things like sour cream or yogurt back into the original container once you’ve taken it out, not putting in open cans in the fridge– these are the kind of things that go a long way to keep you safe and healthy.

The researchers think the food industry should go a lot further, too. They’re advocating a clear and consistent food labeling system, regulated at the federal level. They want smart labels that clearly relay safety information. And they want the “sell by” dates to be made invisible so that customers don’t get confused. Not only is this a food safety issue, but it’s one of the ways that we can prevent food waste. And by preventing food waste, we prevent a lot of wasted labor, natural resources, and we lower our already tremendous toll on the environment.
